10 Ways to Improve E-E-A-T on Your Site!
Creating an
that works can be a daunting task. But don’t be afraid, because there’s one simple abbreviation to follow when planning your SEO goals, and that’s E-E-A-T.
E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness.
Google uses E-E-A-T as a way to measure the value and credibility of the content on a website, thus deciding whether your content is worthy of ranking high on a search page.
Does E-E-A-T Impact SEO?
Yes! Google wants to ensure that when a user searches a topic, they are offered quality links with content that satisfies user intent. That makes E-E-A-T a crucial component of your SEO strategy, as any content you create should take it into consideration.
Danny Sullivan, the founder of Search Engine Watch, and who works with Google, himself tweeted that E-E-A-T is indeed a ranking factor.

10 Ways You Can Improve Your E-E-A-T
Improving your E-E-A-T isn’t difficult. Here are 10 ways you can improve your content’s E-E-A-T:
Prove experience: Experience is key, and making sure that you share your personal experiences and opinions is an excellent way to increase the quality of your content.
Add credibility signals: Demonstrate credibility on your website by adding things like an “about me” page, links to other companies or publications you’ve worked with, customer reviews, and contact information.
Keep content up to date: Content that isn’t up to date holds no value to users and their search intent. You need to ensure the content on your website is periodically updated. And all content on your site provides some sort of first-hand experience.
Build your social media presence: Google keeps a close eye on what the public is saying about you and your website. Try getting communities talking about your brand on social media platforms and forums such as Instagram, Quora, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
Cite sources: If you don’t have direct experience, you can still make use of credible sources to add value to your content.
Provide courses or lessons in your profession: Nothing says I’m an expert in my field, like a great guided course or ebook. Make sure to link to these on your website, as they too make for great credibility signals.
Try to source quality backlinks: Getting quality backlinks is difficult, and can take a while. Avoid using any black hat tactics to get backlinks. Instead, try using sites such as HelpAB2BWriter and HARO as a source to get links back to your site.
Add disclaimers: Content that is sponsored or has affiliate links, should clearly tell readers that it’s sponsored or commissioned.
Use third-party reviews: Great reviews on Google, as well as on other third-party review sites help build credibility and authority in your niche.
Add clear winners in listicles and comparison posts: Adding sections like “why you should choose x” or “this tool is the winner because” shows your first-hand experience and creates high-value content.
When E-A-T first rolled out it seemed that it was an important part of websites in YMYL niches. But with AI-generated content becoming increasingly popular, E-E-A-T has become a lot more important for not only YMYL sites but most websites on the internet.
